Nitrous Oxide Sedation
(Happy Gas)

If you’ve had a disheartening experience at a past dentist, it shouldn’t affect the quality care you need and deserve in the future. After all, your oral health is important and should be respected.

Nitrous oxide, also known as happy gas, is an option that many patients find soothing. During your dental visit, you’ll inhale sedatives through a mask fit over your nose. Once inhaled, the happy gas takes effective nearly straightaway. You’ll remain completely conscious during the course of your care, and simply feel less anxious without the perception of pain.

At the completion of your visit, the effects of happy gas can be reversed quite quickly. This will allow you to return to your normal daily activities without feeling sluggish.

Happy gas can be used on patients of all ages, including adults and young children—even the elderly.

Sleep Dentistry

A patient may choose sleep dentistry for advanced procedures including tooth extractions, smile makeovers, root canal treatments, and dental implants among others. Whatever your reason for needing a deeper course of relaxation, we’re happy to arrange an anaesthetist be present during your care.

During your visit, the anaesthetist will administer an IV that will put you into a gentle sleep for the remainder of your appointment. They’ll be present the entire time, so there is no need to worry about risks or complications as they’ll remain by your side from start to finish. You’ll feel as though you’re taking a lovely nap, and won’t remember much (if any) of the process upon waking.

After sleep dentistry, you may feel tired for several hours after your treatment as the medication wears off. It’s best to plan to have a friend or family member join you at your visit so they can help you get home safely.
